Hillside’s premium lawn care service will keep your lawn thick, green, and weed free.
Early Spring Lawn Application (March/April)
Fertilizer and pre-emergent crabgrass control stops crabgrass before it emerges and becomes invasive in the turf. Early application provides fertility for a spring green up and thick, dense turf going into the summer.
Spring Lawn Application (May/June)
Fertilizer, post-emergent broadleaf weed control and crabgrass control stops broadleaf and grassy weeds, allowing the turf to excel going into the summer. Weeds such as dandelions, clover, and crabgrass are eliminated.
Guaranteed Grub Control Application (May/June)
Insect control for sub-surface insects stops a large percentage of Japanese, June and Asiatic beetle larvae before they can feed on the root system of the lawn.
Early Summer Lawn Application (June/July)
Surface-feeding insect control, spot treatment of grassy and broadleaf weeds keeps insects such as sod webworms, chinch bugs, and billbug grubs from feeding on the foliage in the lawn. Lawns are inspected and treated for stubborn weeds throughout.
Summer Lawn Application (July/August)
Specialty herbicide for grassy and broadleaf weeds is applied to control all weeds that have germinated late or have evaded the spring application. We use professional products and equipment to target a handful of weeds known to be a problem in our region.
Early Fall Lawn Application (September/October)
Fertilizer and broadleaf weed control provides fertility to maintain color and density of the lawn going into winter. This application stops any germinated winter annual weeds in the seedling stage.
Late Fall Lawn Application (October/November)
Balanced fertilizer with high nitrogen is applied to provide water soluble nitrogen used by the turf for winter root development and energy for top growth the following spring.
Pelletized Lime Application (January thru December)
Pelletized Dolomitic limestone is applied to improve pH rating of the soil. Lime will buffer the pH to a lower level, allowing the soil to pass nutrients to the grass more efficiently.
Fall Aeration and Over Seeding (August through November)
Mechanical aeration with Turf-Type Tall Fescue seed. Aeration relieves soil compaction and allows for more oxygen, water and nutrients to penetrate into the root zone and develop healthier and deeper root growth. Seeding afterwards fills in the lawn, bringing back a thick, green and healthy turf.
*All applications are susceptible to change and adjustments based on recent environmental factors such as temperatures, rainfall, and insect activity.
**Fertilizer program is in compliance with MD nutrient management Save the Bay laws.
