The Main Threat
White grubs are the single most destructive turf pest in our area. These are the larvae of beetles (like Japanese Beetles and June Bugs) that live just under the surface and feed on grassroots.
By eating the roots, grubs cut off your lawn’s ability to absorb water and nutrients, causing the grass to detach from the soil.
Signs you have a grub problem:
The grass feels soft or lifts up easily like a carpet.
Increased activity from moles, skunks, or raccoons (they are digging to eat the grubs).
If you see adult Japanese Beetles eating your shrubs in June or July, there will likely be grubs underground soon after.
